| Project Description: | Background: This project has been going on at a very low level for about 1.5 years already. However, this summer it has picked up significant speed because we have been able to assemble a team of SMP graduate students to help with the work. The goal is to develop guidelines for best survey practices for cross cultural surveys. These guidelines cover everything in modular form from contracts and specification, human subjects, all phases/tasks of a project, to documentation, harmonization of data and data dissemination. It will be a web based tool for survey practitioners. A pilot version of the web based tool was programmed for an earlier version of the pretest guideline and the human subjects guideline and was presented at the CSDI conference in March 2007. Completion of this work and finalization of the web based tool is expected by July of 2008. |
